Well life really IS hard today

Ok jumping ahead here, we are on Naxos, which is all what we hoped for and even more. One word for the Jims:  serious carst.   Our little villa, sweet and cozy and full of old world character in all the right ways.  More on that later.
On arrival and when we popped out of the car at the very top of the town, which is tiny and on a steep hill, we followed Eleni's father in law, Stefano to our villa to take a quick tour. Less than 5 minutes and we popped out and got our things.
Which is when disaster struck.   My phone is gone. We have searched high and low.   Actually we have met our neighbors (Keira Maria, Keira Marina and Irina and the painters next door and several others.  Keira Maria made me sit on the bench with her while all the neighbors s helped search about and check the car 4 times. Keira Maria speaks about as many words of English as I do Greek but we determined she has 5 children and 17 grandchildren. The neighbor has spent time in Canada. They are lovely.
The phone is still gone. We are fairly certain it was stolen from the car as I had it on the dashboard and foolishly didn’t lock the door although Elena says this never happens here and everyone leaves their car doors and house doors open. But it is what it is.
It’s been a brouhaha and today we are going down to file a police report with Eleni’s husband as the police were not in the office yesterday. I said it as a small town right?  So thanks to a FaceTime chat with Bryce I have been talked down off a cliff and am not as beside myself as I was but it did derail us.  We will move on. As the seems to be on but working at the slowest pace possible (I am thinking 1/2G) I cannot text and cannot effectively get on the internet. We shall see if I can post this one.
We have decided the Fates are testing us, as with the exception of colds (I am the last to fall and partially blame it for being foggy yesterday and not locking up like a paranoid city girl) we have been having an AMAZING vacation!
