No matter. We are now happily ensconced in the BA Lounge, had a few snacks, Jim had a whisky to kick off the vacation, and we are waiting for the call. Gonna be a bit.
Honestly all the prep work: Figuring out how to get a test that would be within 72 hours of arriving in Windhoek when it takes 48 hours to get there, but getting a Covid test that is resulted prior to leaving Seattle (answer: concierge pay out of pocket come to your house testing). Downloading documents and uploading Covid vax cards, result screenshots on an app that is needed to get into UK. And that’s not all: Namibian govt wants an old test (PCR, I’m now becoming an expert), resulted on paper with signatures doctor names, date time and your passport number.... The only thing they haven’t asked for is your first born. Lucky me, I brought her with me!!! Or fingerprints in your arterial blood (cuz the venous blood isn’t oxygen rich enough).
But its done, bags checked to Johannesburg and we are now enjoying the start of our vacation. Looking forward to our cozy seats....and maybe an Ambien...
