Ok things have been running smoothly so far, I actually even slept on the last 2 flights! We got off the plane here in Copenhagen and have a 2 hour layover before picking up the last leg. This is where it gets interesting.
The transition to the flight to Hamburg was in the E concourse and we were in B. They do a nice job with signage and even tell you how long it will take to walk there (15 minutes) Karen had set up Mom with wheelchair assistance and there was a nice fellow who had her on his lost along with several other folks needing assistance. The cart can hold 5 passengers and was full. Heck there was a guy on oxygen, mom, and another couple who were wobbly.
Naturally Karen and I elected to walk. We chatted about the flight we were catching and the nice fellow knew the details and said that this flight involved a series of stairs. (He didn’t mention the bus!) no matter, he said he would bring her all the way to the plane. Mom was fine, she has her passport and boarding pass. Off we all went.
Except we have been sitting here at the gate for 30 minutes and who knows where Mom is?? This may be the early confession that we may have mislaid our mother. Either that or she is getting a fantastic tour of the airport (I know the other passengers needed to go to baggage pickup). She has probably learned these folks life histories by now.
Karen couldn’t take it anymore and asked a gate agent who said that if he was wearing a yellow vest, he was sure she was fine.
Karen is also fretting because she put her tablet in Mom’s carryon, so she is twitchy. This is our last photo of Mom. Karen is considering an APB. But how much trouble can a 90 year old lady get into?
UPDATE: she is found! She was brought to the plane before everyone else and all is good.
