Those ferry crew are masters of Tetris, and as people are getting off at a variety of stops, it is a careful plan to tuck as many feet of automobile in as possible. Karen says that when the car deck is full, the ferry makes money. And then there are the dogs. They are NOT allowed on the upper decks, so they stay in the vehicles and the owners are allowed to visit/feed/toilet at every port call and about once more during the day. And yes, if the pooch needs to wee, the owner must clean it up, so there is a cart with paper towels and spray cleanser for that purpose on the car deck.
