Well, if you have been following along you would now know that Birgit and I are back on the MV Columbia heading south to Ketchikan. The ferry system in Alaska is called the Alaska Marine Highway System. AMHS for short. You can visit the website at ferryalaska.com Because there are no roads or bridges connecting communities in Coastal Alaska the ferry runs from Bellingham Washington all the way out to Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Chain. I have never done that route, only as far north as Haines and Skagway. Here are some photos of our boat ride:
