Stardate May 11, 2018
Greetings from the temporary land of internet! We are now on the train from Toronto to Montreal. Our train was a full 24 hours late into Toronto - not a real big deal for us since we were not scheduled to leave Montreal until tonight. We had to cancel our hotel in Montreal (well they still charged us but Via Rail tells us that they will reimburse us...) and we will catch up with our connection to Haifax tonight.
We really enjoyed our trip from Vancouver to Toronto - but I tell you - it is not a trip for a person who cares about being on time, and if we had KNOWN that the Canadian is chronically late we could have planned accordingly. OH WELL! We made a lot of nice friends on the train and had a lot of fun. There were quite a few Canadians taking this train who like to take it for fun (and knew it ran late) and they were all feeling bad for us because they thought it was a bad experience. There is now way mom and dad could have seen Canada in the same way - it would have been DAYS in the car.
