The fish lunch bears mentioning. It was on the way to Monemvasia but was truly the first view of not just water but water of such a hue that your eyes pop. The restaurant itself was literally right on the water, waves splashing onto the edges of the floor. The fish was fried on this blazing grill which you need to pass to get to the loo. With a guide who is a Brit it is the loo. I cannot imagine that passing US health and safety laws. Not the loo, it’s well out of the way, it’s the grill that you pass.
The fish was mullet these tiny slightly larger than smelt sized fish they fry whole and the locals eat by removing head and tail and eating kinda like corn on the cob.
There were sea turtles feeding right there, possibly due to the man cleaning fish right there. Definitely attracted cats which were milling about. It was an amazing setting. Areopoli was the town if you are following along on a map....
