Ok so quick post but one recurring theme is cats. Every town seems to have A LOT of cats milling about. They are usually ferrel but evidently they are also usually regularly fed given vaccinations and spayed/neutered. There is a whole organization in Athens who does this and you can see cute little terra cotta dishes with water In them on the streets and a sign.
Most are cautiously friendly all seem well nourished but we have seen no old cats. Can’t figure that one out. First is from the Acropolis, the second is from this AMAZING restaurant here in the Mani where we ate a fish lunch. The man in the pic is cleaning fresh caught fish (see the post on food) others are from restaurants and other assorted places.
