Driving and roads

Well.  The roads in Greece are in excellent condition with nearly 98% smooth riding. If you could read Greek I’m sure they are well signed.
Now the drivers. It’s a sight to behold. It started with Dimitri our driver who picked us up from the airport. He is a very good driver not aggressive. But we came to a merge/stop sign and he slowed a bit and then proceeded to go and when I asked he affirmed that the stop signs are suggestions. Yeah right.
To boot like many small European towns the roads are narrow. Merging and turning onto a road with traffic in Athens is clearly an art mixed with audacity.
We are often passed in the tour bus by people who are clearly comfortable with their automobile dimensions down to the rear view mirrors. At one point the lane marking were too vague to determine where you should be. On wider roads in Athens without lane markings it see,a to be a bit of a free for all.
