Epidavrus And Esklepios

This was a two-for: the theater is nearly 2,500 years old and is still in use today. The acoustics are amazing.   For reasons I don’t understand singing is forbidden in this theater.  If you stand on the center disc it is the proverbial sweet spot. While there I saw several people who didn’t get the message about the singing ban and would try to belt out a piece of something.  The minders who are there to keep us tourists in line would then start blowing their whistles and yelling.
Next door is the Sanctuary of Esklepios.  The Ancient Greek father of medicine. There was a huge hospital and associated spa. It’s all in ruins now but the records state that there were a lot of cures and no deaths.  Amazing.
