Well this is part 2
Jim and I picked up a brochure about Ophir and learned that this was a hopping big town from about 1863 when gold was found until 1904 when the railroad stop was built across the river. This probably saved the old buildings of shist, mud brick or mud plaster. Jim and I walked up the road and then down. It took about an hour and a half including 45 minutes in Blacks Hotel for a beer.
