Dear Readers,
While Birgit and Bryce have returned home and are now settled back in Seattle, Karen and Jim are still on vacation. We will be in New Zealand until April 4th, so another week.
The impetus for this trip was Jim's life long desire to hunt a Red Stag in the roar. (That would be the breeding season). Since the seasons in NZ are opposite from ours, this would be the season for that here.
Yesterday we arrived at Leithan Valley Lodge, and Jim immediately went out and scouted for Red Stag. He saw some big ones, but decided to wait until today to see about getting one. Since it was raining and blowing sideways this morning I don't expect he will have much luck, but I took some photos of the place and thought I would post them here:
