One of the things I enjoy about seeing the churches and other older buildings in Europe are the little details. There is a mouse which is related to the downfall of something in the carving in the Marienkirche in Lübeck which, if touched ensures you will return to Lübeck. Sometimes it’s the artists personal touch or humor in the addition. There are a lot of skulls also in the Marienkirche, a reminder that death is always around and we should be mindful.
