Greeting dear blog readers,
As Birgit and Libby and I get ready to depart for another EPIC TRIP this time to Asia, and more specifically Vietnam, I would like reflect on what it takes to get out of Alaska.
It takes us as an entire day - and that's when the weather is good!
So: first we have to drive somewhere - along with a driver
Then we have to fly somewhere
Complete with pilot!!
And then we get on the REALLY Big Plane!
In this case I was on the inaugural flight of an Alaska Air 900 series plane - which was SO BIG that it would not fit at the jetway and we all had to walk out on the Tarmack to board. Of course there were all kinds of important Alaska Air people on the plane too but no complimentary champagne.....
I should enter the comment that the Alaska Air flight was only INAUGURAL into Ketchikan - Alaska Air has been flying them elsewhere
