OK another day of Hanoi amazements. These are a series of….interesting items that I am grouping here.
The first is coffee. There is quite a coffee culture here and many stores that sell coffee products. Karen grouses that the coffee is not all that great, but what do I know? Perhaps it is that she isn’t drinking the right stuff. I have seen egg cream coffee, and multiple others. But what is perhaps unique to Vietnam (and Indonesia I think) is Weasel Coffee. Yes that is right. Coffee beans are eaten by the Asian palm civet, and excreted whole. They are partially ferments the beans but are excreted whole, washed and roasted and sold with claims of improved flavor profiles. If you say so. And If you are hesitant, there is always Starbucks. If you build it they will come.
There are some seriously narrow buildings here, but this one takes the cake. It is barely wider than the width of a standard door.
